We invite you to join us in learning about Rabbi Michael Farbman’s recent trip to Poland to serve Ukrainian refugees and his intimate knowledge of the Ukrainian and Russian Jewish communities.
Rabbi Michael Farbman was born in Vitebsk, Belarus, a city that sits halfway between Kiev, Ukraine and St. Petersburg, Russia. In addition to serving congregations in England and the United States, Rabbi Farbman was a partner in founding the Progressive Jewish community in St. Petersburg, Russia in the early 2000’s.
In addition to earning rabbinic ordination from Leo Baeck College in London and a Master of Sacred Theology from Yale Divinity School, Rabbi Farbman’s path has intersected with Rabbi Josh Brown (Temple Israel, Akron, OH), Rabbi Danny Burkeman (Temple Shir Tikva, Wayland, MA) and Rabbi Josh Whinston (Temple Beth Emeth, Ann Arbor, MI).
In lieu of a fee for this program, we are requesting donations to the WorldUnion for Progressive Judaism’s Ukraine Crisis Fund. The first $1000 will be matched.
