Although the Emancipation Proclamation declared slaves legally free on January 1, 1863, the law wasn’t enforced in the Confederate state of Texas until more than two years later, on June 19, 1865. Special guest speaker and storyteller extraordinaire, La’Ron Williams, will tell the story of why we celebrate Juneteenth! Bring your family to this special Shabbat presentation!
